Anybody remember these miniature treasures? In addition to vintage powder compacts, Ive been collecting solid perfume compacts for quite a while.

I got my first one at an antique shop in Dallas about 10 years ago. That was just the start. My small collection now includes about 20 of the rarer ones from Estee Lauder that came out in the 60s and 70s. Released once a year around the holidays, there are over 700 designs in circulation. Since Estee Lauder introduced the concept of limited-edition solid perfume and powder compacts in the 1960s, the program has inspired countless collections. Its one of those things that I feel like once you begin, you cant really stop. This rare 1974 Snow Lion Compact has a yellow translucent lid and a ring through the lions mouth making it look like a door knocker.

Its a heavy gold-tone Metal and used to hold the solid perfume Azuree. It is empty and no longer has any perfume. You could refill it or use it for a small pill box in your purse. Beautiful Rare Vintage Estee Lauder Snow Lion Solid Perfume Compact.
